Original British Brown Bess Third Model Experimental Musket with Spear Bayonet U.S. Civil War some never before seenOriginal Item: One of a kind. This is amazing, a standard early third model Brown Bess Musket designed to receive cavalry". The musket dates from between 1796 1808 judging by the basic design, however, all ramrod pipes are absent. In place of which is fitted with a much wider trough without any throat mount but with two substantial covered wagon style retaining tubes for what is held in the ramrods place. Secured under the barrel is a 36" long spear
